kaarsKoker by aPa company

Last week, April of aPa company introduced me to kaarsKoker, a product line of aPa company. With gorgeous patterns and beautiful pictures like these, everybody knows kaarsKoker is the thing that we must talk about and own some. Now, it's my turn talking. :)

kaarsKoker, a decorative replacement candle sleeve, allows you to jazz up your chandelier or sconce in an easy, affordable, and most importantly.. stylish(!) way. Above are my top picks among kaarsKoker collection. It won't be hard to find your own kaarsKoker faves. They are seriously pretty, and oh, have I mentioned.. full. of. style.?

Thanks, April!

Blogland exclusive offer from Pieces, USA

I've just received an email from Lee Kleinhelter of Pieces, announcing an exclusive offer for ppl in the blogland, 30% off on all items starting today, Jan 12, while the general public sale will only start on Jan 15. Isn't blogland... a wonderful land? :)

So if you are reading this and would love to get the 30% discount, you need to mention "imedagoze" on your purchase. Please note that you won't see any details about this exclusive offer on their site, as they will only display the public announcement on Jan 15, when it's open to all. But I have to warn you, you could get carried away with the choices at Pieces. I loooove their chairs and sofas, chandeliers, pillows, floor & table accessories, and anything with mirror. So very greedy.

Now, go hunt some great pieces.

Thanks, Lee!

Baden Baden, Japan

Baden Baden is another great Japanese design shop. I have to say they have a really good eye in selecting their products. I love most of them. :) But if I had to choose, Pendulum lighting is definitely(!) my top favorite.

textile+music, Japan

textile+music was founded in 2003 by textile designer Yuji Muzita. I learnt about textile+music from Baden Baden. Above are some of his wonderful work. You should see the rest of them here.

bonluxat

I stumbled upon bonluxat not too long ago while searching for chairs. And it look like a directory of furniture and furnishings to me. It has everything(!) from sofas to rugs to lamps. It has product descriptions, pictures, names of the designers and manufacturers of every single item.

Joanna Eriksson, Sweden

I saw Joanna's lace necklaces at the Nordiska museet last June, and dropped her an email last week when I couldn't find the pictures on her site. She replied, and few days later, she came back with a nice write up about herself and her work. Below is the story.

Joanna Eriksson is a 35-year-old product designer from Sweden. She's been working from a studio located at a small town in Småland, Sweden for about a year now. Previously, she studied Product Design and one term of Glass Design in Sweden. Her work is mainly about furniture and lighting products for public environment, but she also likes working with jewellery.

Her current project is a large sculptural bench for public environment, which is more like an experiment for her. She's trying to stretch her work a little further by challenging herself to work in a much larger scale than she used to. She's also in the midst of creating a lamp for a design competition in Sweden.

The jewellery pieces, exhibited at the Nordiska museet, are some of Joanna's experimental work by using lace, silver and pearls. She really likes to make things that she can produce herself, and jewellery is so much fun to work with, as she said.

To me, all Joanna's work are so aesthetically pleasant to see, making me want to own every piece she made. *too bad my wallet speaks differently*. It'd be hard to forget her work, because with such lovely pieces, they are surely making marks on everybody's mind. Well, at least on mine. :)

Thanks Joanna, and good luck in the competition!

Away

It's been a busy summer for us this year, with a string of relatives visiting Singapore right after our holiday trip. Our last batch of visitors (my brother and his family) left last Thursday, but we'll be leaving this afternoon for Jakarta, Indonesia, for a cousin's wedding next week. Meanwhile, please enjoy these few links.

Jan's sample posts at Apartment Therapy!!

Congratulations to Jan for being selected as one of the finalists in AT's Blogger search. Woohoo!!! I'm so thrilled to see her posts on a big site like AT. Well deserved, Jan! :) Check out her posts on Kalon Studios, Lunar Lounge, and House Tour: John and Arounna's Toronto Loft, and comment away folks!

Builtby Lamps by Inhabit

You may call me bias, but as a consumer, I know when I see a smart product like Builtby Lamp. It allows you to create your very own lamp base using the available shapes, colors and finishes. Simply drag and drop the body pieces onto the lamp pole, then the swatches onto the pieces, and voila! you've just taken part in designing your lamp! ;-) If you're not the creative type, you can always opt for the Inhabit's Builtby Lamp designs here. Have fun!

Thanks, Mike!
