Anna Charlotte, Stockholm

I bookmarked Anna Charlotte's site quite sometime ago, but I didn't really take a thorough look until recently, and noticed that her black/white "Rose" carpet was installed in the lobby of First Hotel Reisen, a charming 5-star classic Stockholm hotel (see top pic taken from First Hotel Reisen).

Anna Charlotte is a Swedish textile designer who offers consultation services to home interior and fashion industries. My favorite would be the black/white "Rose" carpet, but I'd also love to see how the blue/white "Rose" looks like in a room setting. Must be as gorgeous. Click here to see the Anna Charlotte collection.

BTW, have you all read about the upcoming design*sponge: ask a designer column? If you have any designers in mind, you might want to drop some names there. I emailed my wishlist to Grace already! haha. :)

Sushi Bench

Gabor Jutasi, from Hungary, dropped me an email on Gabor's new bench. I love this black one. It makes a real bold statement. I can imagine it being paired with a geometric pattern rug. Gorgeous!

Thanks, Gabor!

The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam

I've never posted anything on the hospitality industry before, but considering our lovely weekend at The Nam Hai, and the fact it was just opened in December 2006, plus the generosity of our host, it is so worthy spreading the words around. :)

The Nam Hai, a G H M hotel, features 60 One-Bedroom Villas and 40 Pool Villas. The villa pictures you see on my flickr are from the One-Bedroom Villa. Located only 30 minutes drive from Danang International Airport, The Nam Hai offers more than just breathtaking landscape, great interiors, wonderful service and beach-front view. From the little tiny details you find on your dining table and in your villa, you will know that you're having one of the best hospitalities in the world. And at least twice during our 2-nights stay there, we were greeted with words like these, "please do let us know how we could make your stay more pleasant". Sometimes it takes only "small" things to make "big" impressions, wouldn't you agree?

Away

I will leave tomorrow for a short holiday to Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), I'll be back in a week's time.

Chain Links Coasters

Just came in, an email from Estella of moderndose, informing me about their new and exclusive, Chain Links coasters collection. As a big, big, big fan of bold geometric patterns, I couldn't simply miss posting about these stylish tile coasters, could I ? ;-)

Thanks, Estella!

JM'2, blackboard designer

The term "blackboard designer" is fairly new to me, but it's not entirely surprising that such creator does exist if you had seen the chalkboards by Pakhuis Oost before. Based in Lyon, France, JM'2 has quite an impressive range of blackboard products, like the sticker blackboards that can be stick to walls, or even furniture, on which you can write with chalk!

Or those wall blackboards with floral shapes? (love!) JM'2's other products include magnetic blackboards, accesories blackboards and decorative stickers. Sounds like a fun collection to me! :)

Happy Easter!

It's Easter Sunday! To those who celebrate it, I'd like to wish you and your family, Happy Easter!

Here are some pictures from MIMI' lou, a French wall-stickers company. This is my first time seeing a wall-stickers collection made of line drawings, and I guess MIMI' lou is the only place that has Dinosaurs designs so far. I know some kids are just crazy over dinosaurs! ;-) On top of those, MIMI' lou also offers custom portrait wall stickers for your kids, or for the entire family. Brilliant!

Enjoy the rest of your Easter Sunday!

Tongue Chair

When I did my search on Papeete Ciel last week, I stumbled upon this Tongue chair at Italian Design 360. There's just something about this chair that draws me to it. Not because of its intriguing name, but it's just so.... aesthetically pleasant to see. I like it covered with solid color as shown above, than in a floral pattern as seen on sevensalotti's site (bottom pic). My personal preference, I guess.

Tongue was designed by Mauro Lipparini for sevensalotti, an Italian furniture company. Come and see sevensalotti at the coming Salone Internazionale del Mobile Milano 2007, April 18 - 23, 2007, Hall 7 Stand G14 Milano Rho-Pero.

adesso stockholm

adesso's site has been sitting on my bookmarks for quite some time now, it is a shop cum showroom, offering handtufted carpets, designed by female Stockholm designers, and high quality sofas and armchairs by Ihreborn and Njudex. Adesso is run by Gunilla Hogborn and Madeleine Jansson.

Above shown carpets were designed by Pia Amsell. A search on Pia Amsell has led me to this newly launched book, 17 svenska formgivare - chez Pascale (17 Swedish designers - chez Pascale) via David Report blog and the 17 Swedish Designers exhibition (March 23 till June 15, 2007) at Just Scandinavian, New York, USA.
